Why Varoo exists

Most Australian small businesses are invisible to Google, AI assistants, and the customers actively searching for them. Not because they’re bad at what they do. Because nothing they’ve put online is working the way local search actually works in 2026.

Most owners think they need a website. They do, but that’s not where local discovery starts. When a customer searches “plumber near me” or asks Siri for a brunch spot, the first thing they see is Google’s map pack, which lists businesses pulled from Google Business Profiles. If your profile isn’t there, or isn’t set up properly, you’re invisible before anyone even gets to a website.

The existing options for fixing this haven’t worked for small businesses.

Pay a corporate agency $8,000 to $15,000 for a custom website. That’s priced for businesses with marketing budgets, not the solo operator or family-run café. And most of them barely touch your Google Business Profile.

Use a 1-click website builder. You get a site fast, but you’re locked into the builder’s proprietary platform. Your content lives inside their ecosystem. The rigid templates mean you look like every other business using the same builder. And none of them help with the GBP work that actually drives local discovery.

Build it yourself. Most owners run out of time before they finish, and the result usually misses both the website structure and the GBP optimisation.

Varoo exists because none of those options work for the local plumber, the brunch café, the suburb hairdresser. We built a fourth path. Both pieces, a real website and a fully optimised Google Business Profile, managed together, professionally, at small-business prices.

What’s actually changed

Ask Siri who the best electrician in your suburb is. Ask ChatGPT for a coffee recommendation in your neighbourhood. They don’t give you a list of links anymore. They give you an answer. Sometimes a single business name.

That answer comes mostly from Google Business Profiles. It’s the source data Google trusts above almost everything else for local recommendations. Most small businesses have a GBP that’s barely set up: wrong categories, missing services, no photos, no posts in months, no description. They wonder why they’re invisible. That’s why.

The businesses that get named aren’t always the best. They’re the ones with a complete GBP plus a website structured to back it up. It’s a solvable problem and most small businesses have no idea it’s even happening.

What we build

A complete web presence, run as a service, for one monthly price.

Your Google Business Profile, properly set up and managed. This is where local discovery starts. Most small businesses have a GBP that’s incomplete or outdated. We fix that. Categories, services, products, photos, hours, attributes, descriptions, Q&A, weekly posts. We connect via OAuth so we can make changes on your behalf without you ever sharing passwords. It’s the difference between showing up in the map pack and being invisible.

A professional WordPress website. Built, hosted, and managed by us. Real WordPress, not a builder platform. Your content lives on your site, not inside someone else’s ecosystem.

The technical setup that gets you found by both Google and the new AI tools. When a customer asks ChatGPT or Siri for a recommendation in your area, the structure of your GBP and your website determines whether you get cited. We handle all of that in the background. You’ll see the results in your monthly report.

Monthly health checks across ten categories. You always know where you stand. GBP health, website performance, security, accessibility, content. Traffic-light bands. Clear actions. No mystery.

Ongoing content. Weekly Google Business posts, monthly website blogs, photo refreshes. Published for you, no brief required.

Who we serve

Built from the ground up for Australian small businesses that need a real web presence. The plumber in Carrara, the café in Manly, the hairdresser in Bondi, the suburb tradie. Sole traders, family businesses, small teams. Either you don’t have a website yet, or the one you’ve got isn’t earning its keep.

Not corporates with their own marketing departments. Not international agencies adapted for Australia. Not multi-location franchises. Not businesses happy with the website they already have. If you’re outside that, we’re not for you, and that’s fine.

We’re built around what AU small business owners actually want. Quick to launch. Easy to update. Visible where customers are looking. No platforms to manage yourself, no jargon to learn, no learning curve.

How we work

One operator, run from Carrara, Queensland. ABN 71 562 261 801. Founded April 2026.

Lean operations let us give 150 clients the kind of attention a boutique agency reserves for ten. What you experience is a person, not a portal. Changes go through WhatsApp. New photo, new hours, prices changed, a typo on your homepage? Message us, we action it.

The relationship is the product. That’s the point.

What we charge

Start with a free Google Business Profile audit. We’ll show you exactly where your local visibility stands. From there, $99, $149, or $199 per month gets your website built, your GBP managed, and your business visible across Google and the new AI tools. No GST. No setup fees. No lock-in. Cancel any time and keep what we’ve built. See full pricing.

Domain or no domain, we get you live

You don’t need a domain to come to us. Launch on a Varoo subdomain (yourname.varoo.com.au) so you’re live in days, not weeks of domain hunting. Add your own domain later if you find one you want. Either way the site, the content, and the theme are yours. If you ever leave Varoo, we hand over a clean export and you take everything with you.

What’s next

The relationship is the product. We’re not building a self-service dashboard or a do-it-yourself toolkit. What we’re actually building: customer messages from your site routed straight to your phone via WhatsApp, smarter content briefs that pull from your real Google data instead of guesswork, and tooling that learns your voice so the emails we send on your behalf sound like you wrote them.
